Jayson Tatum has spent his entire life wishing to play in the NBA Finals. He dressed appropriately for the occasion.
The 24-year-old Celtics player arrived at Chase Center in San Francisco on Thursday night wearing a stylish half-pinstriped blazer with a pink shoulder, leopard print cuffs, and an eye-catching right lapel.
The outfit was daring enough to catch the attention of GQ Sports.
Tatum addressed the day before Game 1 of his “surreal” goal of playing in the Finals.
“I just kind of revert it back to being a kid, watching the Finals every year growing up,” Tatum said. “Every kid dreams of playing in the NBA and making it to the Finals, but actually living out your dream in real time is a surreal feeling.” You know how you have to pinch yourself every now and then? When I walk in and see this backdrop, I realize I’m in the Finals. So I’m just trying to soak it all in and appreciate the moment.”
